What This Is

BDE's Community Service Training is the foundation we ask every brother and community service participant to complete. Whether you're earning required service hours, joining the volunteer effort, or just looking to sharpen yourself in the areas that matter most, this course prepares you to handle real situations with knowledge, calm, and confidence.

What's Covered

  1. Anger Management Recognizing triggers, calming techniques, healthy expression, and de-escalation.
  2. Common Police Interaction Best Practices How to stay safe and calm during any law enforcement encounter — hands, words, body language.
  3. Common Things to Know — Police, Traffic, Public Traffic stops, public spaces, checkpoints, witness situations, and everyday civic know-how.
  4. Your Rights When Stopped by Police The Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments in plain language — what you can do, what you should say, and when.
  5. Mental Therapy / Mental Health Types of therapy, signs to seek help, breaking stigma, and crisis resources (988).
