What This Is

Conflict between people is unavoidable — but how you handle it is a skill you can build. This training focuses on the space between two people: how to listen, lower the temperature, communicate without attacking, set boundaries, and know when to walk away. The goal is simple but powerful: keep small conflicts from turning into big, life-changing mistakes.

What's Covered

  1. Understanding Conflict Healthy vs. unhealthy conflict, sources of conflict, conflict styles, and win-win thinking.
  2. Listening & Understanding Active listening, empathy, validating without agreeing, and checking assumptions.
  3. De-escalation in the Moment Lowering the temperature, tone and body language, buying time, safety, and exits.
  4. Healthy Communication "I" statements, assertive vs. aggressive vs. passive, and avoiding blame and contempt.
  5. Boundaries & Walking Away Setting limits, saying no, disengaging, and protecting your freedom and future.
  6. Repair & Resolution Apologizing well, forgiveness, rebuilding trust, compromise, and mediation.
  7. Conflict in Real Life Family and co-parenting, roommates and neighbors, the workplace, and online conflict.
